MOULD
Mould growth can be attributed by pre existing or ongoing water damage issues such as leaking pipe, sump pump failure, roof leaks and sewer back ups. Many types of mould are hazardous to your health and can damage the structure of your building. Mould grows indoors on wet or damp surfaces such as carpets, ceiling tiles, wallpaper, wood and drywall. Mould can start to grow within 48 hours after flooding or other water damage.
ASBESTOS
Asbestos was a commonly used mineral that was banned from manufacturing in most building materials in 1979. Prior to, it was used in various building materials such as: vinyl flooring, insulation, plaster, siding, textured ceilings and shingles and can be found in buildings constructed until the early 1990's. Any building materials prior to 1990 that are affected by contaminated water or fire / soot should be tested by a certified laboratory to confirm hazardous materials.
